Community Projects : Shoreline Working Group
Introduction
1. The Board of Directors of the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority recently established a Shoreline Working Group. The group has been focusing on developing policies to assist with the review of development applications within regulated areas of the Lake Huron shoreline in the MVCA's area of jurisdiction. The mandate of the working group is to: Develop recommendations on the policies that should be used to make decisions on development applications proposed within regulated areas along the shoreline Develop an outreach and education program on shoreline hazards and ecological resources along the shoreline Oversee the updating of mapping and information related to the dynamic beach and flood/erosion risk areas of the shoreline
2. New shoreline mapping outlining the updated 100 year erosion line is now available. This line replaces the 1983 100 year erosion line. In addition the maps show: - the dynamic beach line
- the 100 year flood line
- and the wave uprush line.

The maps are sorted by municipality. Please note that the files are in .pdf format and in an effort to keep the file size manageable the resolution has been reduced.
