Falls Reserve Conservation Area
Set along the scenic Maitland River, just minutes from Goderich, Falls Reserve Conservation Area offers a terrific camping holiday: the perfect combination of great family camping in a beautiful natural setting.
The natural beauty of Falls Reserve makes it truly exceptional. The park's 230 acres are nearly enclosed by the winding Maitland River. Over thousands of years the river has carved its way through rock, leaving behind a rugged river valley. Wide and shallow, the river cascades over a series of low waterfalls as it flows around the park creating a unique and exciting swimming area for visitors.
Falls Reserve has 190 campsites for trailers or tents with water and electrical hookups available. Camping facilities include washrooms with showers, safe drinking water, a snack bar, firewood and a dumping station.
Campsites are available with 15 or 30 amp service in sunny or shaded sites. For those who want to hear only the woods and wildlife, new radio-free sites are available by reservation.
A group camping site is also available (reservations required). Camping and picnic shelter reservations are available from April to the end of October.
Pack your camera and spend a day or a weekend hiking along the trails accessible from the park. During the winter months, cross-country skiers can enjoy groomed trails.
Falls Reserve provides excellent year-round fishing opportunities. Rainbow trout and salmon migrate up the river every spring and fall while small mouth bass and panfish can be caught during the summer months. Young anglers can try their luck at the bass and trout pond.
The park offers interpretive programs, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball, a playing field, picnic areas, and a picnic shelter which can be reserved.
In the charming Town of Goderich you can enjoy special events, shopping, restaurants, the Huron County Museum and Historic Gaol, and the beautiful beaches of Lake Huron. For theatre fans the acclaimed Blyth Festival is just 15 minutes away in the Village of Blyth. Falls Reserve also hosts several special events throughout the summer.
