FRCA is currently open for day use. Welcome spring with a walk through the park, there's lots to see as migratory birds move through the area and wildflowers begin to emerge.

Did you know that the Lower Maitland River is a complex ecosystem that provides habitat for a number of Species at Risk including the Wavy-rayed Lampmussel, Butternut tree and Queensnake? The forested steep slopes of the river valley are important sources of food and shelter for wildlife. Some of the Eastern White Cedar trees that cling to the limestone cliffs are more than 300 years old. These cliff communities are probably the only old growth forest that remains in the Lower Maitland Valley.
