The Maitland Conservation Foundation (MCF) works in partnership with the MVCA to raise funds for conservation projects. The Foundation is a registered, charitable organization that is led by a volunteer Board of Directors. The MCF has been raising funds significant local projects since its incorporation in 1975.
Through the Foundation individuals and businesses can contribute to projects that protect and enhance watershed forests, rivers and soil. Donations to the Foundation can be directed to specific projects including:
- Environmental education
- Tree planting and habitat restoration
- Falls Reserve Conservation Area
- Water quality monitoring and reporting
- Improvements to conservation areas
All donations over $10 are acknowledged with a letter of thanks and a receipt for income tax purposes.

Making a Difference
In 2009 the Foundation will make a difference in your watershed by supporting the:
- Delivery of conservation programs to over 7,000 children at the Wawanosh Nature Centre.
- Acquisition of snowshoes for use at the Nature Centre and watershed schools.
- SNOWfest, Huron Perth Agriculture and Water Festival, Healthy Waters Day, Summer Night Hike, Fall Colour Tour and a variety of other community events.
- Delivery of the River Safety Program to over 1,000 primary students across the Maitland watershed.
- Updating of environmental programs for visitors to Falls Reserve Conservation Area.
- Conservation Award at the Huron-Perth Science Fair.
