The Maitland Conservation Foundation (MCF) recently received a $2,000 donation from the United Communities Credit Union Community Investment Program. The goal of the Community Investment Program is to enrich the communities where United Communities Credit Union members live and work by building thriving neighbourhoods.

This generous donation from United Communities Credit Union has been used to purchase new snowshoes for the Wawanosh Nature Centre. The snowshoes currently in use at the Nature Centre are over 25 years old and they are finally wearing out. This donation has ensured that snowshoeing programs can continue this winter and children have the opportunity to participate in a terrific outdoor activity while learning about conservation. The new snowshoes will also be used at schools across the Maitland watershed.
